Flat Tire Repair

  1. If using hand tools, loosen lug nuts before lifting.

  2. Lift from the preferred lift point.

  3. Place a cooler, toolbox, spare tire, or similar size solid object under the vehicle as a secondary support.

  4. Remove the lug nuts, catching each one if possible.

  5. If a lug nut falls into dirt or sand, clean it before reinstalling, so threads are not damaged.

  6. Install the replacement wheel.

  7. Start every lug nut by hand.

  8. Tighten in a star pattern.

  9. Torque to Polaris specifications whenever possible.  If torque wrench is not available tighten with impact gun to get you home. 


Preferred Rear Lift

  • Jack stays level throughout the lift.

  • No suspension movement required.

  • Safest way to lift the rear tire.

Watch Out

  • Confirm the jack is centered beneath the lift point.

  • Never lift on unsupported plastic.

Look through the skid plate opening—you can actually see the chassis tube you're lifting from.


Alternate Rear Lift

Why

  • Excellent backup when side access is blocked.

  • Strong structural lift point.

Watch Out

  • Lift directly beneath the chassis tube.

  • Avoid unsupported skid plate areas.

Trail Tip

If the tire barely clears the ground, removing a small amount of dirt beneath the tire can provide the extra clearance needed.

Trail Tip

Stop after the first inch of lift and verify the jack hasn't shifted before continuing. And only lift as high as needed to perform your repair.
